## KoranekKiln## Specs40amp 240V 1 phase two parallel sections of four elements ringing the kiln once (one circumference each) 2mm Kanthal likely 12 gauge 2.052 mm Assuming that there is a 10% rating overage this is 360 amps. Also assuming that top and bottom sets are the same, each is 18 amps. E=IR 240v = 18amps X 13.333 ohms There are two of these circuits. 12 gauge Kanthal A-1 is .403 ohms per meter at 20˚C 12 gauge Kanthal A-1 is 23 grams per meter. There are 16 tails needing double winding allow 16" each. (6.6 meters) 13.333 ohms/ .403 = 33 meters (x2) (33+33+6.6) = 72.6 meters x 23 grams = 1.6698 kg , 3.6 pounds it runs about $80 per pound. $320 |
